Summer Reading

This summer I have been having a lot of fun with the Midwest Reading Theme of Catch the Reading Bug. This nearly normal guy is more of a performer rather than builder.(Though I have created over the years a couple of interesting puppets) My "Lady"(bug) helps me play my melodica ...Ludwig's Ode to Joy.

Last year I missed the deadline for one neighboring library system with 29 branch's...but got my proposal in for 09 shows..very early. The Theme is Creativity @ your Library. More of my gigs have been at Summer School for Elementary Age Students this summer. In 09 we will be creating more stuff with slinkies, milk jugs...etc.

aside..last night my wife and I watched the Tony's and saw glimse of the big show with rod puppets. Anyone seen the actual production?

Now the Summer Reading themes run almost nationwide. The Bug theme has been huge fun to work with.

Yes that is the play. It seems like an interesting concept. I have worked with and without the black clothing. Actually it was my puppet manipulated by another actor while I took on another live role in the play.

Summer Reading Programs continue this week. Funny in a second show last week, where there was great airconditioning, I sweated more than the morning show in a library with no or little cooling.

Yeah, this summer has been hotter then usual it seems.
