Downey - 10:20am/Apr 11
Signal Hill – 10:00am/Apr 12
March/April was a very ruff month, we now have our own building so we spent three wks remolding the sanctuary, and I had an accident and hurt my shoulder running into a metal door frame. My daughter wrote a script about St Bernard getting caught by the dogcatcher. BibleBetty uses all her money in her piggy bank to get him out. All the puppeteers worked very hard on the church so we weren’t able to practice as well as we should so we changed the script so that Betty and Bernard told the story. We recorded the show. It didn’t come out the way I would have liked it to but both churches enjoyed it. One of the songs was called “Unchain my Heart” and Charlie made a jail at the top of the stage and St Bernard sang the song, Clyde (a spotted Dalmatian) played the sax. At the bottom of the stage were three dogcatchers as backup singers, they got lots of laughs. We were also very happy because Easter is such a busy family weekend that we were short a couple of puppeteers. Our two youngest members (brothers) Arthur and Alex’s parents pitched in to help and decided to join the team. They did a wonder job and we are very proud to have them. Our next show is the Downey Street Fair. This is an all day performance with us doing one show every hour.
