October 31th Calvary Signal Hill & Downey shows

Well, October was fun (someone save me!!!!!!) Calvary Signal Hill had its first Harvest festival for the city of Signal Hill. Boy we’re we worried. We expected anywhere from 200 people to 500 people (wishful thinking) then we found out that Long Beach had cancelled all their festivals (an incident happen that made the city pull all their permits) We were told by the city that this could mean anywhere from 2 to 3 thousand people (holy cow!!! Were a little church) But we had help from Lakewood Baptist and many friends & family and the festival was a hit with the count at over 2000 people. On top of all this, this would be the second time the puppet teams would work separately (we like working together) I had to write a script (one team had six puppeteers & the other had seven/built four puppets (demons, two for each team) my husband had to build a mouth mech for each demon (first time Charlie & I built a puppet together, it was fun) they are suppose to look like floating heads. Then I had to setup two shows Downey & Signal Hill I attend two practices and had to setup 40 puppets (20 for each team, make costumes, dress them for two shows instead of one. I went into surgery then the next day my daughter went into surgery. Two days after my surgery I couldn't perform but I was the stage manager. I was so worried this is the first time in 11yrs I didn't perform in Downey (I missed the team) but the show was taped so no one knew I was gone. I'm the voice of BibleBetty so they thought I was there. The new team at Signal Hill did a great job. Then the next day I had to speak at a seminar in Temecula on Basic Puppetry. Charlie, Ray (St Bernard) and I were trying to keep from falling asleep. I was never so happy to see a month end, now in December we have 5 shows so I’m writing a script for Christmas and have to build 2 puppets (here we go again!!!!).
